Sunil Ekanayake was born in Anuradhapura but now resides in Rajagiriya.   He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya.  He has participated in several art exhibitions, many of them presented by the George Keyt Foundation, and has received a number of awards for his work, amongst which are some first place awards.  He has also provided illustrations for children’s picture books and magazines.
