Namali Priyadarshanee comes from Matara.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Paintings from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya.   She has also studied Ceramic/Textile Designing.  Since 2000, she has participated in several exhibitions of oil paintings, porcelain painting and sculpture, held at the leading galleries in Colombo.  She received a first place award in 2001 for her Porcelain Painting.  In her work, Namali affirms that the behaviour patterns of the Institutionalised woman have been limited owing to social restrictions.  She depicts the differing stages of woman through her paintings.
