Helaka Ruwanpura is from Moratuwa.  Since 2001, he has participated in the Kala Pola, and his works have appeared in the Nawa Kalakaruwo exhibitions and the Young Contemporaries where he received an award last year.  He has worked as a set designer and audiovisual co-ordinator for a private advertising firm.  He participated at the last International Artists' Camp.
