Harsha Samarasinghe lives in Homagama.  She secured her BFA in Painting and Sculpture from the Institute of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya.   She has participated in many group exhibitions in Colombo including Young Contemporaries and Nawa Kalakaruwo and has been a prize winner on occasions.  In 1998 she presented a solo exhibition at the Heritage Gallery.  At present, she works as an Art Teacher in Avissawella.  Her art displays different aspects of human confrontation in war situations within the Sri Lankan context.  It also seeks to depict the power of spiritual life over fatal material success leading to human destruction.
